What a weekend. We are finally back home after a few days wihout electricity. Despite the issue of not being in our home, the weekend was great. Todd and I had a mess to clean when we got home and lost most of the groceries we had in the fridge - but praise God for the fun we had playing in our Winter Wonderland.

Short post tonight. Started my training sessions with Stephanie again last night and was very sore today. It feels great! How crazy is that.

Things at work are still in fast forward mode and it is time to jump in or jump ship--- I am aboard and ready for the weeks to come. I can't wait until I can share all of my news with you.

Today was an amazing day in the Lord. We were surprised by a visit from Billy & Junella -- two very special people in my life -- Billy was our associate pastor and was called to his own church in West Texas. His wife worked with the Young Ladies Ministry and become a mentor/friend and very special lady in my life. It was so hard when they said goodbye. So many mixed emotions -- Excited for knowing how God is working in their lives but so sad to know the void that would be placed in Liberty. It was great to see them. They left, I believe in Oct and being with them today was just awesome. The message this morning was given by Bro. Dennis and very much what I needed to hear. Sometimes we are afraid to let go and let God for fear of what others might say. At the end of service he ask us how many were holding back in our worship or service because of a fear of how others would respond. Great service. Tonight we were blessed by Bro. Billy bringing forth a message on PATIENCE... What a nasty word -- :) I think my favorite verse he pointed out was....

I also realized that this verse does NOT say ... count it all joy IF you fall into various trials... IT SAYS WHEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This one verse alone tells me that I will have trials and storms in my life. Great sermon and awesome to hear Bro. Billy behind the pulpit at LBC once again. Just another showing of how God is using him in a mighty way. I could go on and on about the glory that was shown today...

Tomorrow is a HUGE day as it is the START of a new mindset for our Athens office -- I ask that you continue to pray for this part of my life-- I assure you details to follow as SOON as I am at liberty to share! Another important event comes tomorrow - a new dedication to the gym -- with everything going on with my schedule, I have fallen into old habits of going when I can -- tomorrow is the start of GOING each day (except church days) so ... it is almost like starting over. Stephanie has worked her schedule so that I can start training with her again on Tues and Thurs. She is totally awesome and I'm blessed to be someone she has chosen to work with. I have to get back on track.

One last comment for the day - If I had one wish for you -- it would be that you could feel the same PEACE and JOY that I have. There is ONLY one way to achieve this -- and it is by the name of JESUS!

Taking a Breath...

As promised...

Last week was a whirlwind and I couldn't wait to start my girls weekend with Misti and Kathy. We planned to leave around 6; however, my office had other plans and it was around 6 when I left Athens. I finally made it to Kaufman and we were eating dinner around 8:30. We had a great dinner and the best waiter named Carlos. When in Rome was the movie of choice and very good. In fact - a good chic flick for us chicks. I believe we finally made it to our hotel around midnight. From there it was laughter, giggles, conversation and finally around 5 AM good night. It just It still blows my mind that I can sit with these 2 girls for hours and still find things to talk about. It has been such a blessing to reconnect with them as the past has come full circle and the entire friends forever that we use to write on everything - is 100% the TRUTH. I will never allow these two out of my life again. As early birds, we were up and we were out of the hotel by 10. A wonderful breakfast at Original House of Pancakes and then on to bowling... We played 2 games in which Mistie won one and I won the other --- What happened Kathy????? The rest of the day was spent at the mall. It was the perfect evening/day.

Sunday was spent in the house of the Lord and in the office for just a few hours getting ready for a big meeting on Monday. It was such a relaxing and great time - I think I even forgot about all the changes and chaos that is going on right now in my professional life. Once back to the office on Monday I was reminded. On Monday my new Regional Manager and my Area was in the office for a day of reports, discussion and everything in between. WHEW --- I have never been so glad for a day to be over in my entire life!!!!!!!!! I'm not sure if it was an interrogation or a job interview or a ?????????? Let's just say --- I am so on top of the world that it is over! However, with the meeting being over - more chaos follows as the next 90 days will be rocky and exciting. (details to follow soon -- promise)

I have been so frustrated with not getting to work with Stephanie due to my schedule and can tell that I'm not pushing myself the way I need to push -- she is AWESOME and starting next week has offered to stay after boot camp nights to train with me --- she is the greatest!!!! It will be great to get back into the routine of working with her again -- it isn't the same being in the gym and not having that extra push! I AM TELLING YOU ... COMPLETE FITNESS IS THE PLACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Friday is the BEST day of the week --- Today was the day where you put away the week and become excited about the weekend. Mom and I took Lolo to see The Tooth Fairy tonight -- cute cute movie- NOT ONE CUSS WORD!!!! It was very family oriented, and you don't see that often.

Busy weekend full of birthday parties, friends and my baby girl, Aydin Grace--- Looking so forward to the weekend!!!!

I plan to also get back on track with blogging!!!!

Happy Wednesday... Just a quick update and then I want to share an email with you that a very special lady, Lavon, sent to me. It is the best email I've received in a very long time.... so so true!!!

Quick Update: Diet is going well - workout has taken a tumble. Due to work responsibilities, I've had to cancel my Tues and Thur night sessions with Stephanie. Those who are close to me know this is a disaster as she is my rock and I do so much better with her!!! I have been in the gym; but it isn't the same. Stephanie and I are going to get together and see if we can arrange our schedules so that I don't lose this time with her. Whatever the outcome - I will NOT stop this journey and will continue to be in the gym - just will not be seeing the same success (I know that!!!!) ~~~Pray for this schedule conflict -- I NEED to be in the gym with Steph!!!

Other than the above news, it has been a quiet week so far -- we were unable to go to church tonight as my little guy was sick and running fever. We are hoping TLC and a little medicine is going to do the trick and he will be all better in the morning. I hate missing mid-week service! It was nice to cuddle with Lolo and just be home!

**Another very exciting event this week -- I FINALLY gave in and bought an iphone!!! Yea me -- This involved talking Todd into changing service from Verizon to AT&T. THANK YOU TODD! :)

Formal Introduction ...

I didn't want another day to go by and miss an opportunity to tell you about the most important influential person in my life... If you do not know the man name JESUS -- now is the time! Please allow me to introduce not just my savior, but my LORD! If you really know the man I call Lord, then you will understand my passion and love for him. He has had many names throughout the years.

Think about all of the names you have heard over the years that describe who Jesus is... How would you introduce Jesus? Do you have a close enough relationship with him to be able to really introduce him to others? I would like to share a video with you. It is probably one of the most dramatic, powerful introduction I have ever heard. You have probably seen it before, but it is worth sharing again. Can you say that you feel this passionate about the man named Jesus.

I do not know the heart of Steve Harvey. I am not here to say if he is a Christian or not. I will say that I get so excited each time I listen to this video. I do know that his introduction was very well deserved. Even with all of the passion and heart that was put forth during this introduction, I wonder how many people really listen to his words about this man he was introducing?

I have so many people in my life that I know are missing the joy that I feel. I just wish I had the magic words for you - I wish I could just introduce this amazing Savior and you would just get it. The sad thing is -- I can't! You have to be ready to accept what Jesus has to offer. I will say that what Jesus has for us is so much greater than anything else in the world. You will never be able to understand the true meaning of love nor joy, until you accept Jesus as your Savior, and allow him to be your Lord! If you ever have questions, about how to find this joy, please allow me the opportunity to talk with you about how to find true peace!

Freaky Friday...

Friday is my day to catch up with everyone on the weekly events -- I would like to say, this has been a GREAT week. Highlight of the week, I hit my 40 pounds this week. I was so excited! It feels so good to be able to say, guess what? I lost 40 pounds - wooooo the hooooo.

In a previous post I talked about the possible changes that were coming to my office. This week we learned that changes will be taking place within the next 6 weeks. I am still unable to go into detail but I do see a light in the tunnel and I'm so very eager to get through these next few weeks and start fresh! I am a firm believe that change is good. I can NOT wait to see where our company is this time next year. I ONLY see a bright future for the Athens branch. Stay tuned...

A new experience for this week.... I tried a new class tonight at the gym... ZUMBA!!!!!! To be honest, I am still so surprised that I let my guard down and did it.... I know some are saying, What is a Zumba? I ask the same question. I had no clue what I was getting myself into. So after I talked myself into it, off we go.

I googled, ZUMBA and found the following definition: The 60-minute program incorporates footwork and body movements from flamenco, salsa and other dances. Participants pump their legs, windmill their arms, clap their hands, dip, slide and spin — all to a frenzied beat that leaves them with flushed cheeks and dripping in sweat.

After my class tonight -- I can say - that describes it very well. :) I LOVED IT. However,, I will not be able to attend each week as the classes start at 4:30 and I will not be home from work in time. I was ONLY off today because I had an eye doctor's appt.

Tomorrow will be another great day. Logan has a testing appointment in the morning at 8:00 at the school for the gifted program. Then a friend is having a pamper chef party at 10 and then an afternoon of no plans and family time. I CAN NOT WAIT!

Sunday will again be a great day in the house of the Lord. There is just something about being in the house of the Lord!

Before I close, please continue to pray for the nation of Haiti. Americans could learn from the faith and love that some in this nation show for God. To see these brave men and women being pulled from the damage raising their hands and shouting praises to the ONE and ONLY GOD ALMIGHTY!!!!

I have decided to dedicate tonight's blog to the Relay for Life -- see below...

My Reason to Relay

Together, Logan, and I will walk this year especially for my grandfather, P.B. Wilson, who is currently in the fight of his life against bladder cancer.

I also walk in memory of my uncles, Jessie Stout and Gene Stout; my beautiful aunt, Cheryl Martin; and my wonderful brother-in-law, Keith Bostic; all of who loss their battle with Cancer. A very special friend named Roger St. John who just this last year lost his fight.

The American Cancer Society Relay For Life is more than just an event to me. It is my personal opportunity to help save lives from cancer by supporting the American Cancer Society.
It's amazing to think that millions of people will be diagnosed with cancer this year. Somebody close to us may be one of them.
But, by taking part in Relay, I am helping the American Cancer Society save lives by:

Helping people stay well by helping them take steps to prevent cancer or detect it early, when it’s most treatable

Saving Sunday... Anyday in the house of the LORD is a good day!!!

As I sat down tonight to write my blog, there were several things that came to mind. The first thought is the one I will run with tonight. I have a very dear friend who is in the process of finding a church home. So what does one really look for when looking for that church home? I remember when Todd and I were looking for a new church home. It can be a hard, trying time. It also takes a great deal of prayer and persistence. Other times, it just happens - you walk in and just know!

I believe that many people will ask the question what denominations do I want to visit.

Definition: A religious organization uniting local congregations in a single, legal and administrative body.

I hate that so many people get caught up in the denomination. There are many denominations, but one body of Christ. To me it is more about what I believe and how does that line up with the church. It is very important to understand the beliefs of the Church before joining. Before joining any church you should ensure that there is a true teaching from God's Holy Word.

While watching the football game with friends today the subject of church came up and what is the best way to determine what church is best for you. Is it OK to trade off one thing for another? This really had me thinking. If the children's church is very important to you and you find the church where the children's church is what you wanted, but the preaching of the word was not preached from the pulpit - do you trade the preaching for the children's program. When is it ok to make a trade? If you find the preaching of the word, children's program is awesome, but the body is not inviting and you do not feel love -- do you trade one for the other? Where do you draw the line? I mean I really started thinking about this tonight. Is it possible to worship the church and lose sight of Jesus?

Would creating a checklist help? Before visiting, make a check list of the most important characteristics about the church you hope to find. Once you have visited a few times, you can ask yourself based on the checklist questions. Did I learn about the bible? Was it a place where fellowship and community are encouraged? Are people's lives being changed? Is there a place for me to serve in the church? Can I connect with God and worship him freely?

As far as choosing the church for our family; Todd and I were interested in the bible being preached and hearing the name of Jesus. I do not believe you can worship God and NOT worship the Holy Spirit and Jesus. It isn't one for the other!!! I am in no way saying that we should settle for a church because there is no perfect church. I am saying that sometimes in every church there will be something that this one or that one doesn't agree with. I really am writing to clear my thoughts... I know how important it is to find a church home; I have to remind myself as well -- there is NO perfect church; however, there can be a perfect church for you.

I pray for this special family - I pray that God will direct them to the church He wants them to be a part of. I pray that if the few churches they have visited is not the church for them, that He place someone in their life with an invitation. I pray that God will lead them to the church that will touch each one of them from the inside out. I pray that there will be a peace in the decision. Jesus name, Amen

Freaky Friday

I will start this Freaky Friday with... I am so excited that we are at the weekend!!!

I was in the gym everyday this week except for Wednesday -- too hard with church; however, we did do Barry's bootcamp once we got home. I am so glad that Todd bought this for me -- what a great Christmas present... Makes the days I can't get into the gym so much better.

We will also head to the gym first thing in the morning. As of this evenings weight, I am down just a little over 2 pounds. I'm a little concerned as I really worked hard in the gym this week and felt I was on target with my calories, so I was hoping for more. With that said, I'm still down -- seeing a lower number is always reason to praise!!!

There are many changes going on within my "work life" right now. Huge meetings taken place next week to determine the future of our company. Many exciting changes heading our way. I welcome change but the unknown of what all they will be, can be a little scary. Whatever they may be, I'm ready!

I really do not have a lot to report for this Freaky Friday.

Wacky Wednesday

Welcome to the next 90 days. Today is the first post of the new challenge... I don't have a lot to say today other than -- I was right the workout last night was more intense and I sure knew it this morning. Just additional pain leaving my body!!!

Church was great, as usual -- however very sad news from our missionary families in Haiti. What we know so far... One of our churches was destroyed, as well as the pastor's home and he is unaccounted for at this time. Communication with Francious, who is the leader of the missionary efforts in Haiti, has not been made as of yet. We believe he is okay but it sure would be nice for someone to hear from him. Three of Francious children are in my Sunday School class, and my heart just goes out to each of them. They are all enrolled in college here in the US. When they graduate, they will all go back into Haiti and help their father carry on the work of our Lord. We do know that Francious's sister and her grand baby were killed during the quake. The devastation is far worst than we are seeing on TV. This will not just effect where the quake took place, as this is the center of all activity in Haiti. The entire nation is in danger! All supplies, food and money comes through this town. PRAY PLEASE PRAY!!!

This country is such a poor area with a great deal of evil. However, there are many people in Haiti who have learned the name of Jesus and are true to their faith --- God is in control. It brings me to tears to know that during this tragic event, many people in Haiti were standing in the streets and praising God! So many of us could take notice and learn from their faith.

Your prayers are so appreciated, this is so close to my heart!!!! If you had an opportunity to talk with just one of these amazing people -- you would feel the love of Jesus!! Thank you!

My first 90 day challenge - - - I DID IT!!!!

So... today was the 90th day... I am sitting here with so many emotions running through my mind. Some positive and very few negative... I have so many things I want to write about tonight so, forgive me if I'm random and all over the place. (I have been told that I tend to be random, at times)

First I will start with the goals!!!

I am very sad to report that my weight and measurement goals were not met; but I'm totally accepting and excited at what success I did have.

Weight - wanted to lose 40 pounds in 90 days

Lost 36.5

Measurements - wanted to lose 26 in 90 days

Lost 24

Walk w/ Christ

I have never in my life felt this much PASSION and LOVE for my God
Ready to take on the Girl Power (possible name change) ministry with all of the zeal I have
Ready to serve my God in whatever ministry I am called

I met this challenge head on -- missed the midnight deadline a few times due to this or that -- but 90 post were made and was done before going to bed each night. (Thank you so very much to those of you who sent motivation my way - I love you more than you know)

Top 15 things I've learned about myself and life (in no particular order)

I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me. Phil 4:13 (I am stronger than I gave myself credit)
I learned that diets do not work...but a detailed plan, commitment and exercise will
I learned it is OK to take time for yourself --- In fact -- it is smart - I have to be a priority
I have a true calling for Christ
I have found that true friends are few and far between
I am a very determined person
I can jog, jump and skip rope - (and after tonight -- I can do the spin bike)
I have a trainer for LIFE, as long as she will have me :)
Eating breakfast and snacks are NECESSARY to be successful in weight loss
I don't just believe in GOD -- I believe GOD
I learned my family and friends are the greatest support outside of my Rock, Jesus Christ
I will make it to my goal of a healthy lifestyle
I have learned that others can NOT define who I am
I actually enjoy being in the gym, well some times :)
I learned that when I totally surrender, I can start my life fresh

So where do I go from here? I am so glad that you ask. I will commit to 90 more days on this amazing journey. I have decided to be a little more realistic with some of my goals. :)

I am really finding it hard to put into words how the last 90 days have changed me -- I started this blog on a whim and suggestion from a good friend. I never dreamed it would have as much affect on me as it has. The accountability, and outlet it has provided has been amazing. There is something to be said for the written word. I think my favorite part has been sharing my love for Christ with you.

I do not have a lot to say tonight --- the gym was uneventful other than the sore body. :) Tomorrow is the 90th day and I for one can not WAIT. I will blog the minute I come in from the gym (or shortly after) I hope to have a total number of inches loss as well as the total amount of pounds.

I will also have a game plan for the next 90 days! Still working towards a game plan for this next step!!!

Becoming me in the process of my JOURNEY!!!

I still can't believe that a heart, soul and life can change as much as mine has in just 90 days. Sure, I've always been Stacie but... I don't' think I've really searched within myself and found true JOY like I have in the last 90 days. It all started with finally making my mind up to become healthy for my family and myself. It has turned out to be so much more. With only 2 blogs remaining after tonight's, I sit here and think wow -- what an amazing 90 days. (Thanks Tonya for the idea to blog)

Over the last few years, I have really tried to examine my life not just as Stacie, but as a daughter of the KING. It seems that once that became the focal point of who I wanted to be -- everything else just seemed to start clicking. The big question now is... who does Stacie want to be? I would like to say a size 6 with buns of steel. :) But is that really the truth if I'm being honest. I don't' know if it is or not!!! I really have thought about that question in great detail today after our church messages this morning/evening. At this moment, I can say - I want to be a light in this world of darkness. I want to have good health and energy to carry on the Masters business. (looking good in a pair of jeans will be an added bonus) My passion is JESUS! I want to share what I have with everyone. This joy I feel isn't suppose to be grounded ONLY within my heart - I am born to share it. I want other ladies to see me and think - - what an example of Christianity. That is someone that I can turn to and trust in my everyday circumstances as well as major life struggles. I really feel that God has laid upon my heart women. Not just ladies within my church but ladies in general. Starting the bible study "Girl Power" is just the beginning! This is my ministry... I have without a doubt been called to play a part in the discipleship and equipping of the ladies across my community. Who knows at this point what that means??? God does. I pray that I will turn a deaf ear to the world when I'm told you can't do that. I just pray that I keep in the word, aware of His voice, and strong with the trials come.

I'm also at the cross road of what is next -- I committed to 90 days of personal training, healthy eating and 40 pounds. What's next??? I know that Stephanie is not a 90 day someone in my life -- I will train with her until and after I reach my goal weight. Some people come into your life for a season... Some would say a trainer would be for a season. I feel a connection with her and I see Stephanie as a part of my life long past I've reached my goal. With that said --- I WILL REACH MY GOAL WEIGHT. I am really searching as to what the next 90 days will include. I know that this blog has been such an outlet for me and something that I actually look forward to writing. The next 90 days will be another milestone in my journey.

Yes, I am a Jesus freak

and I can't imagine a great compliment.

I will close with again saying - - - If you do not know this joy (peace) I speak of, please allow me to introduce to you my savior, Jesus Christ. Others will forsake you, but Jesus will never. He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.

How 'bout them boys...

I will start by saying... God didn't just show up - - He showed off!!! This was a great day ~ started with an early lunch with 2 of my favorite girls, Misti and Kathy. There is just something about the ease and comfort of old friends. From lunch we went to my church to get things ready for "Girl Power". We continue to grow each month - today was no different. There were 15 ladies! I was over joyed. We discussed Chapter 2 and 3. Chapter 2 has everything to do with how fragile our lives really are. It is so important to live each day so that you will not have regrets. Chapter 3, one of my favorite chapters, was more of the CRAZY love in which God has for each of us. My favorite quote in the ENTIRE book is... "The irony is that while God does not need us but still wants us, we desperately need God but don’t really want Him most of the time." I mean -- really meditate on these words ~ how true are they to your life??? All in all it was a great study and I can't wait until our February meeting.

After leaving our study, I ran home to pick up Todd and Lolo and we headed to friends house for the football game - How 'bout them boys... I will say it was a GREAT game. The fellowship (17 adults and just as many kids) was really awesome as well! I really enjoyed watching the game - I will say I especially enjoyed watching Jason and Miles play. While both are very skilled/talented players - I believe they hold something so much more important -- CHARACTER! I am growing excited about next week's game... I had the biggest headache before we left -- I didn't care -- I don't think there was a person without some type of wooo hooo or cheer tonight -- even those that are not fans of football -- they were funny to watch jump in and get excited with us.

Food everywhere!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But I have a goal, it was very hard to turn down the rotel dip and chips (my favorite) but I did it. This time 6 months ago that would have NEVER happen! Keep praying friends - I can feel your prayers!

Excited and ready to serve the Lord tomorrow and I'm prepared for an awesome worship service! Bring it on!

It has been a typical home from work sick day. :) I took advantage of the day and decided to read again the chapters in Crazy Love for our bible study tomorrow. I can't wait - we have 16 people confirmed. I know that there will be some confirmed that might not show up, but I know God is going to give us a great group tomorrow. I can not wait to dig into this book with everyone. These chapters are so powerful and really talk to you no matter what your current circumstance in life.

I am finding the journey I'm on to be one of great challenge and love. I'm learning each day something different about myself or those in my life. I ONLY have 5 days left in this first 90 day journey. I have kept with most of my goals/challenges. The major goal was to lose 40 pounds -- I refuse to look at my weight until Tuesday. I will say I am close but not to 40 yet!!! I am a little concerned with being sick this week and not being in the gym since Tuesday. Healthy eating has stayed on target, but exercise is such an important part of this journey.

I will end with this --- exercise and diet is important ~~~ however my walk with my Savior is the key to the success of my journey.

Started the morning taking Lolo to school and then 1 co-pay, 1 shot, 3 prescriptions later -- I was home from the doc office. I was so excited to watch the Texas game tonight -- going to bed and hope I stay awake to watch them steal the championship!!!!

I think tonight I will just share a few passages of scripture. Our message at church tonight was the pure doctrine of Jesus. I think that by far this was the BEST message I have ever heard. The entire message to me was ... so simple! It does NOT matter how perfect I try to live my life. It doesn't matter how many classes I teach or attend. It doesn't matter how many people I help. Without the blood of Jesus none of that matters!!!!!!!!!! You know as a born again Saved Daughter of the King -- I know all of this! However, there is something so amazing about hearing it again and the scriptures used tonight just SHINE a bright spot light on my savior, Jesus! It is another showing of how everything from the beginning to the end directs us to Jesus.

2 Tim 3:16 All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

Leviticus 17:11 For the life of the flesh [is] in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it [is] the blood [that] maketh an atonement for the soul.

John 1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

Your Choice....

It is our choice as to what type of lifestyle we are going to live. The change has to start with a decision to make things happen! I am so glad that I finally made the decision to change my life. Not only my life but the lifestyle of my family. The most important thing about this change is that --- it is a change 4 LIFE! I will not go back to the OLD BAD habits of yesterday.

It was a wonderful day! The office was busy (and that is a GREAT change), the gym was outstanding -- well as outstanding as a gym can be!!! I really enjoyed working out tonight and sitting in the sauna afterward. It is hard to go every night and not get home until 7 or after - but as I tell Logan, in the long run it will be very worth it. I also decided tonight that this time 2011, I would like to have completed a run/walk in some type of charity race. I have a cousin that runs in marathons and a really good friend that completed the 3 day for Breast Cancer. I do not know what /when I will do it but I can assure you --- this time next year, it will have been completed!

Something to think about? What / where do you want to be this time next year? Still sitting in front of the TV eating ice cream? You are the ONLY one that can do it. You do not have to make 5 changes at once. Just choose one area, make that change and then move to the next. It might not be a fight for health. It may be your relationship with someone. It might be your job. Whatever it is --- you can make that change and make your life what you want it to be.

I am so excited to get 2010 going in the right direction. We were in the gym tonight, which was a GREAT start to 2010. We plan to make every effort to be in the gym every night. I know that I will ONLY achieve my goals if I stick to the plan.

Give yourself time to succeed. Patience and persistence make almost anything possible. The only way you can fail to reach your goal, is to stop before you get there. What an excellent day in my Lord, Jesus Christ! I so love Sunday's! I have decided to dedicate tonight's blog to my Sunday School class. Todd and I challenged them to come into class next week with 3 things. We talked about how we wanted to dedicate this year to the Lord in 2010 like never before. I challenged them to think upon a traffic light - and each time they saw a traffic light, we wanted them to think upon things they could either STOP doing, CONTINUE doing, or START doing that would help them grow closer in their relationship with Jesus... After church today I started thinking on my own journey and decided to answer those questions in my blog tonight and to really dedicate myself to each.

Upon my first journal entry, I list the major parts in which I would commit to as my journey to becoming a ROCK star began.

They were as follows:
1. My Walk with the Lord
2. Diet
3. Exercise

So... Here goes my Stop, Continue, and Go for the journey!!!!

My Walk with the Lord

STOP: I will stop putting hand cuffs on God and getting in the way of His will for my life!!!

CONTINUE: I will continue to be a vessel in which He is allowed to work.

GO: I will start hitting the ground running each morning with prayer.

Diet

STOP: I will stop weighing 10 times a day!!!!!

CONTINUE: I will continue to count my calories.

GO: I will eat more veggies... (yuk)

Exercise

STOP: I will stop thinking "I can't do that"

CONTINUE: I will continue to listen to Stephanie's advice.

GO: I will push myself at all times in the gym, not just when working with Stephanie.

It's really a new year!!!!

Just sitting here thinking of Monday -- I will be back in the office after a very "lax" few weeks. Ready for the changes that are heading our way! There will be new goals for the upcoming year. With Monday fast approaching, I think of the new dedication to being in the gym EACH day. During the holidays we missed several days due to schedule conflicts or to be honest -- just putting other things in front of that part of our life. THAT WILL BE CHANGED!!! Will make every effort to be in the gym on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. I am still a little worried about my schedule at work and how I am going to fit in my set appointment with Stephanie on Tues / Thurs. I am still praying that a way will be provided so that I do not have to change this.

I have made a decision about my nutritionist. Due to the cost and the conflict of information -- I will no longer be seeing her. My original plan was to stick with both the trainer and nutritionist until April. To be honest, I just do not feel the plan she had me on was working and since I've change my calories and plan to match what Stephanie set before me --- I'm losing again and feel so much better!

I have already used the above picture ~ but LOVE it and thought I would once again say -- I'm FINALLY making my life my master piece -- so that I can go about the Master's business!!!! 2010 is going to be my year... I can not wait to to look back on this journey and see how far I've come! Watch out world!!!!!!

On a side note -- spent the day with my beautiful new grand daughter, can't close without sharing a few pictures of how much she has grown...

Start spending more time with your family?

Start reading God's word?
Start managing your money better?

Don't put it off until tomorrow!!! Tomorrow will never come! Don't wait - take the necessary steps to make it happen today - Change doesn't start tomorrow - Make it happen today! You can't just say it -- you have to look at what you want to accomplish - how do you want 2010 to be different? Start with determining the steps you must take. I really think if we look at it as a dedication and not a resolution -- we will see a difference in our outcome...

HAPPY NEW YEAR... A New Dedication!

What a great evening. Our New Year's Eve started out with dinner with great friends. From dinner we all traveled to the church for our watch party. I can' think of any other place I would have rather been when the new year rolled in. I will share a few pictures with you tonight.

I have no idea what I'm laughing at but... with that game - there is NO telling! We were playing "Imagine If..."

This was the table for the artist. :) They were playing "Pictionary Man" I'm not sure what Hannah is doing to her mom....

As midnight moved closer, Bro. Dennis and Bro. Joe shared a few words with us. Bro. Dennis talked with us about the difference between a dedication and a resolution. He ask us to think about this year and what our Christian walk was and where we want it to be. Bro. Joe wants to be called a JESUS FREAK!!! Is there a greater compliment? Once they finished, he began to ask others to share something from 2009. Much to everyone's surprise, it was silent (an odd occurrence for our group) -- Bro. Dennis called upon me to share. I had so much running through my mind that I wanted to say; I feel that God has shown me throughout this year so much. He has shown me not only His love for me but I have learned so much about myself. I really believe that our new bible study is going to be an amazing adventure for all of us. I feel that God is going to open doors and windows for us to minister to ladies across our community. I explained how awesome it feels to finally be in tune with God's will for our life. I also expressed my love for my church. I am blessed beyond words to be a part of Liberty. I wanted to say so much more -- but, midnight was fast approaching and I knew that others needed to share. As others finished sharing, Bro. Dennis closed our 2009 in prayer. It was AWESOME!!!! However, my little guy did not make it, as Bro. Dennis was giving closing remarks -- he fell asleep in my lap at 11:52 (he tried so hard to stay awake)

The last pictures to share are people within my church family/life that are deeply planted in my heart. Again - I am blessed beyond words with so many amazing people in my life that I would love to mention you all!!!

Awe, Sharon Woods... I could say so much about this lady and what she means to me. Mrs. Sharon is the wife of our pastor. I don't think one ever realizes what that means. The wife of a pastor has mighty shoulders! At times the weight (I'm sure) is unbearable! She is an excellent teacher and someone I adore! She was a tower of strength for me when Todd went through his surgery and illness.

My Pastor, Dennis Woods... I could write a book on this man! He is probably not your typical Pastor. HE IS A MESS!!!!! He is a strong man of God and loves unconditionally. His first commitment is to win souls into the Kingdom, if that means Liberty gains a member, GREAT -- if that means another church is blessed with another member --- GREAT! It is all about being busy carrying on the Master's business.

The picture is a little blurry, but I can't talk about special people from my church family and not mention, my Marsha. She somewhere along the way became a very special friend and mentor. I have been blessed with an amazing mother who I love dearly. My mom is the greatest and there is no other person that would be able to take her place -- Marsha is a close 2nd. She is always there to not only encourage and love me... BUT to correct and give me the push that I need. (her husband, Steve should be pictured with us because he is very special as well)

Tonya and Nicole. The 3 of us are so very different and yet so much alike. I have so much fun with these ladies and have enjoyed the growing friendship! Funny how God will bring people together at the perfect time. 2009 was a very interesting year for all three of us with major changes for each. Just a few of the changes we have shared with each other during 2009 were: divorce, pregnancy, new ministries, acceptance, relocation, health, and most important a renewed faith in our Lord Jesus Christ!

I am so excited to see where 2010 will take Todd and I. I know without a shadow of a doubt that the journey I am on will be completed through hard work, dedication and a strong focus. I can't close the 2009 blog without saying THANK you to Stephanie. Stephanie is my trainer and has worked with me and pushed me into doing things that I never dreamed I would be done at this stage in the journey. I know that when I chose a personal trainer -- I was blessed! I tease her and say she is my Jillian --- but you know what - she is exactly what I needed!!!!! I am here to tell you that the ONLY way to make a change is to get up and do it!!! If you can't do it by yourself (I couldn't) -- get someone to hold your hand and help you each step of the way! I can not wait to see where we are this time next year.

I would like to close with a comment again on the ROCK star status that I keep throwing around. How fun is it to say I'm going to be a ROCK star... I would again like to assure you that my definition of ROCK star is not typical. I will become a star for JESUS! The ROCK that I am referring to is the ROCK of my salvation! Psalms 18:2 The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. I will finish this journey not because of my dedication to the gym and eating right; but, through my dedication to my Lord Jesus.

2009 was a dynamic year for my family -- I am eager and ready to see what 2010 will hold...

Okay --- here we go - I'm sure tonight will be very random! Tomorrow is the LAST day of 2009. How crazy is that? As I sit here and write I think to myself -- what a year it has been. 2009 has had so many twist and turns and ups and downs. However, learning to dance in the midst of the storms has taught me so much about who I am... Looking forward to an amazing 2010 and really digging my heels into the Journey to become a ROCKSTAR!

The BEST thing about 2009, I FINALLY made my mind up to do something about my health... Best decision of the year. I just wish I would have made that decision earlier and would already be much closer to my goal... The important thing . . . the decision was made and I'm on my way!

My session with Stephanie last night was great - by great I mean - I woke up this morning with many aches!!! I love that! I know that sounds crazy but... I love that feeling of wow we really did something and my body is telling me that it is working! Todd and I went to the gym today and as crazy as it sounds, I'm really starting to enjoy being in the gym. shhhh! don't tell anyone!

After church tonight we went to DQ and ... I had a kids cone (135 calories - all counted) and it was soooooooooooooo good -- first time I've had ice-cream since October! I still stayed within my calories - how cool is that!

Looking forward to tomorrow night!!!! Out with the OLD and in with the NEW!!!

"Being real is difficult"

"I wanted to be strong for Nathan's sake. I wanted to be there for Nathan. But a part of me was thinking, We've been working all these years at being real with each other. Do we start playing games now?"

Ann Smith lists three blessings received from "being real." You'll have to read the book to find out what they are, but I will quote her one more time from this entry about being real, because it's so good.

"It's not our failures and our mistakes and our struggles that hinder the work of the Kingdom; it's pretending we don't have any. That's what hinders us. We need to be saying to people, 'Yes, life is both pain and joy, but there is someone who walks with you in the good times, the bad times, the in-between blah times. There is someone who walks with me and helps me in this journey.'"

I'm thinking circus again because I go from not being real enough to being TOO real, which can very easily turn into drama. We don't need drama; I want to be me, but I also want to be the "new" me in Christ. I want my life to reflect peace and the faith and trust that I have in God in the middle of good times and tough times. But to say that I didn't have a moment of hands shaking, heart pounding (mine), and a few tears recently when Don needed nitro, well, that would not be real. I am happy to report, with all honesty, however, that God gave me perfect calm in the middle of the "excitement." That, too, was real. I know that I can be real and God can use that, because He is real IN me.

Happy Monday back to work after being on vacation for a week! Work was typical for a holiday week. Moments of busyness and then normal DEAD in the water!!!!! Todd and I were back in the gym tonight and it felt good to be back working out after Christmas -- I'm thinking others had the same thought because it was so busy tonight. The best part of the evening was my 25 minutes of solitude in the sauna. Ahhhhhh, it was great!

The evening was spent after the gym at McDonald's for a birthday party for a precious little girl from church named Macy. The kids had a good time! By the time we got home, it was bath time and bed. So this evening was gone before we even walked in the door!

The morning service at church was GREAT. It is always an amazing feeling to feel the spirit move throughout the service. After church we went to one of my favorite restaurants and ate with dear friends. Todd received the new City Monopoly game for Christmas and our friends were coming over to play after church today. Everyone was having a fun time and then "it" hit. I'm not sure if I ate something or what was going on but I spent the rest of the afternoon / evening running back and forth to the bathroom. My friend, Tonya, was here and said I was taking her morning sickness from her. :) Todd and Logan decided to go on to church and I stayed home. I really was excited about our service tonight as I knew Bro. Joe was preaching and he always brings forth such an amazing message. Once my house was empty I laid on the couch and continued to make my trips to and from. I didn't eat anything different than 2 others at lunch so... who knows. The evening was not a complete waste as I realized one of my favorite movies was on. "The Sound of Music" always makes me smile. As I sat here tonight watching it I can't help but hum the song "My Favorite Things".

Well it was a GREAT day... I will say that it started off very bad. We had major plumbing issues!!! But thank goodness for daddy's!!! Todd and dad worked on the "issue" and happy to report -- it is fixed... Yea, Todd and I spent the afternoon running around as Logan had an outing planned with a friend of mine. She gave him "lunch and a movie" for his birthday and today was the day. Jamie took Lolo to see Alvin and the Chipmunks. Logan said it was great! Jamie said he laughed through the entire movie.

I guess my vacation officially ends tomorrow! I have to go back to work on Monday -- also back to the gym on Monday. With everything going on this week, I was only in the gym one time this week. I was able to stay within calories and eating plans during the Christmas festivities.

I can't believe you have not ask me what all the 30 pictures are about... Oh, you do want to know... well I'll tell you then! I will say that as of this morning, I have reached my first goal of 30 pounds -- I told myself I wanted to do this 30 pounds at a time! As of this morning I am 30 pounds down -- NEVER TO BE SEEN AGAIN! It feels so good to hit goals.

Happy Birthday Jesus

Logan has been wanting the RIDE game for his wii. We have told him over and over he wasn't old enough for the game. He was so excited!

I would also like to introduce

the newest member of our family...

Mr. Squiggles. Todd and I searched and searched and my sweet amazing cousin, Billy out of the blue ask if we found one and said he had an extra zhu zhu, do you want to buy it from me. Well YES!!!!! Logan has already purchased the play set, house and all the accessories in his head!!!! I don't think this Christmas present is done --- I see more "things" in Mr. Squiggles life.

... Thank you Jesus for giving us another Christmas with my grandpa. It was an amazing day. We went to Greenville with mom and dad to spend the afternoon with my grand-parents. We found out in June that my grand-father had bladder cancer. In August we was care flighted to Baylor from the Greenville hospital and spent several days in ICU where we were told he was a very lucky man. The doctor told mother and I that if my grand-father had not had such a strong heart he would have lost him on the operating table. With that being said... that experience made this Christmas so special with him. He is still battling cancer and it is a struggle everyday; but Jesus is a mighty savior and one way or the other on earth or in heaven, I know my grandpa will be HEALED!

What a day... Christmas Eve was amazing. Outreach/Puppet show was cancelled due to the weather... (bummer) but the day was great! Todd, Logan and I ran around for an hour or so and then came home to get things ready to take to mom and dad's this afternoon. While at mom and dad's we opened the door to realize that is was SNOWING!!!!!!!!!!!!! Really snowing! In Texas, snow on Christmas, only a GOD thing! :) After all the gifts were opened, Paw Pa received the award for best present -- Logan's first bb gun. Logan said "I'm really a big boy now" -- does he have to remind me?

For Christmas Dinner mom and decided to do steaks/chicken on the grill in honor of my journey :) -- with the weather so awesome; George, my George Foreman grill that is, came to the rescue! Dinner was wonderful and I was able to stay within my calories. Mom made a sugar free/fat free cheese cake and a choc pie. The cheese cake was very good and although I'm not sure of the exact calories; however I did have a piece and still feel very confident that I will be okay during weigh in -- yea, go me!!!

I had a great day at HOME!!! I did not leave the house until 6:30. I will also say if it wasn't a church night -- I would not have left!!! -- Logan and I made a Gingerbread house today. It was the first time he has really had an interest in making one -- It was a lot of fun doing it together! He was so proud of the way it turned out.

Now I've yet to mention that I LOVE LOVE LOVE ginger bread cookies!!!! I really thought I would be OK until tomorrow when he wanted to eat it -- WRONG! He wanted to eat it an hour after we finished it. YES, I did eat a portion of the roof --- Did I mention I love gingerbread!!!!

I am so happy to report that I am down 25 pounds and 20 inches! I will let you know if this sticks after our Christmas dinner! :)

Tomorrow Todd has an outreach and the Christmas outreach is always blessed and I pray tomorrow is the same. Logan and I plan to spend the day together finishing last minute task - as well as watching the Christmas story at the outreach.

It was a rough day yesterday/last night for reasons I wish I could share, but have decided to say that even innocent discussions can be turned into a nightmare! I am not good with conflict!!!! I will also say that after my talk with God, I know that in the end all that matters is that I am true to Him! IF that is taking place, everything else will follow!

I'm very excited to share a wonderful dinner with my parents, Todd and Logan tomorrow night; I've been blessed with amazing parents and can't wait to share Christmas Eve with them.

Will start my day in the gym and then the rest is not planned until tomorrow evening.

Girfriends Christmas

Was at the gym this morning by 9:30 -- It was awesome to be at the gym and done by 10:30. I could get use to that! I'm on vacation this week and have decided that I could also get use to that! :) Had a great deal of running around to do after the gym so was out and about until around 1. From there Todd was a big help getting things ready for our "Girlfriend's Christmas" at my house. Each year we have a night for just the young ladies of our church usually ages 18 to 40 (with our Marsha - young adults Sunday School teacher included) Opening my house up for this event every year is always a blessing. I'm thrilled to share my home with such great girls. The older I am getting the more I understand how important friendship is.

We opened the evening up with a grab bag game. Before everyone got here, I asked Logan to go through our house and pick 20 things and place them in the bag. He was very creative in his choices. Every one of us picked one item without looking and had to tell why or how we were like the item. Imagine the excitement as one by one we picked the following... perfume, measuring cup, old cell phone, wet wipes, remote control, candle, highlighter, dog leash, clothes hanger!

All of the answers were awesome and creative. My favorite was for the remote control. The young lady who chose the remote said that she was MOST like the remote because it would control different things -- a VCR, DVD, fast forward, pause, play - that is how she is - she is a mother, daughter, friend, sister. I so agree with what she said, I will add, it is hard control everything - isn't it awesome that God will control our remote, if we allow Him.

The next thing we did was a Christmas Trivia (Thanks Lavon). It was so fun to see the different answers as well as those that were missed! It was a lot of fun and really interesting to watch everyone interact with the answers chosen.

We had a great amount of food, and fun -- I'm so blessed by a strong group of Sisters in Christ. There were only 9 of us that were able to attend; I know that there is a reason for us to be a smaller group this year - - God moved tonight during our time together. I was over whelmed by the amount of sharing and love for one another that was showed. God never ceases to amaze me!

No, we did not spike the punch!!!

Family

Family is such an important part of our Christmas celebration. Today was our Martin Family Christmas! My cousin, Billy, hosted the family event this year. I was so excited as everyone of my dad's brothers were there along with his sister. I know that it means a great deal to my grandmother to have all of her children there. Not all of my cousins were able to be there today, but that happens as we get older and have our own families and responsibilities. The day was beautiful where we were allowed to be outside as well as inside throughout the day. I have selected just a few of my favorite pictures from the day. There are so many pictures I could post but have chosen the below to share with you today. Before I get to the pictures -- I will admit to ----- eating mac n cheese today as well as a piece of the most amazing pineapple pecan pie EVER. I'm sure I will pay for it tomorrow in the gym!!! Ellee and Neeley playing dress up - These are 2 of the cutest girls!!!! Neeley is a good girl and was so sweet with Ellee! Neeley is very active in gymnastics and cheerleading and My Uncle Shames better watch out cause she is also a very beautiful girl!!!! :) Ellee is the SASSIEST little girl I've ever met and I love watching her interact with others!

This is Carter -- and anyone that knows me, knows this kid stole my heart from the first time I saw him. Not only is he adorable -- he has the BIGGEST personality of any kid or adult I have ever met!!! He is the spitting image of his daddy and mamma -- so watch out world!!!! Logan thinks Carter is the #1 cousin EVER -- Such a MESS!

This is my special grandmother, Bessie! I had to pick this picture because she is making her famous Mac n Cheese! I assure you - there wasn't anyone to pass it up!!!! Not only is she a good cook; she is the core of our family and I adore her!

This is Jonah Brooks and my beautiful mom. Jonah is the son of my cousin, Reba who will always be very special to me... Jonah was perfect the day he was born and as you can see --- he is STILL perfect! It didn't matter what was going on around him today -- he was happy and laughing! Such a sweet boy!

Nothing to say except this is the little boy that holds the key to my heart!

I will close with this picture... This is living, breathing proof of the healing power of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Carson was born a very sick little guy and the specialist said he would be delayed, and sick all of his life - - The ONLY trace of his scary entry into this world are his hearing aides! He is healthy, beautiful and SPUNKY!!! (OH, and he is Carter's little brother) CARSON IS OUR MICRACLE BABY BOY!!!

Tonight was our annual Christmas Drama at church. It was changed up from last year. It was a musical and displayed the different events in the life of Jesus. From being born in a manger to the cross. Tonight I'm going to do just a picture blog from the drama. Tomorrow is going to be a great day as we have Christmas with the Martin side of the family at my cousin Billy's house - always a good time and such an amazing family.

What a wonderful end to a not so fun week! I ended my week by enjoying some girl time with Mistie and Kathy. Again, I'm blown away by the fact that we have been apart for so many years and it is still so easy and comfortable. We sat at Starbucks forever and we laughed as we watched a group of teens. We said several times, "Were we that silly?" - or "Were we that loud?" I'm sure we were louder and silly!!!!

On a sad note, tomorrow Kaufman will say goodbye to a very special person. Carla Hester was a Kaufman graduate of the class of 1990. I've had not seen nor talked with Carla in many years; but she will always hold a genuine spot in my heart. Please pray for her son, Damion, tomorrow as he says goodbye to his mother.

I don't have a lot to say except tomorrow is the start of my 9 day vacation -------------- Awe, I can't wait to do nothing - or - do exactly what I want!!!! The gym will be fit in each day they are open as I am focused and will continue this journey.

My Night to Shine

Today was a good day - - - tonight was even better! Before the program began, they showed a cute slide show of different pictures from the first semester. Todd just happened to catch the one below of Logan and his teacher Mrs. Reeve. We just adore her - we are sad that she has received a promotion and will be taking a more administrative role after the Christmas break and he will be moving into another teachers class. :( We have enjoyed Mrs. Reeve and will miss her!

As I watched Logan line up on stage, I could see his eyes searching for Todd and I. What a feeling I got when he spotted us and smiled from ear to ear. They did such a good job - precious is the word that comes to mind.

I did not make it to the gym as I worked until right before time to get Logan to the school - tomorrow looks bad to for the gym. I am meeting two friends to go to the viewing of a class mate that suddenly died on Saturday. Her name was Carla Hester and she was one of the most genuine people I have ever known. I have not seen her in over 15 years; but none the less I am very sadden by this loss. After the viewing I am going to dinner with Misti and Kathy - again will say how blessed I am to have these 2 awesome girls back in my life.

I have stayed on target with my calories; I will get back in the swing of the gym - It has to be a priority of mine. With that said -- I wouldn't have missed tonight's program for the world when I saw that beautiful sweet smile on Lolo's face as he was searching for us. He is growing up before my eyes and I don't want to miss a moment.

The journey I am on is teaching me more about myself than I ever could imagine.

Today -- I have so many names for HIM --- I am so thankful that I serve a MIGHTY, POWERFUL, and MIRACLE MAKER God... I have to say -- God is awesome! I blogged on Thursday about my afternoon with my friend who had been in ER due to a miscarriage. Through the weekend, she kept telling me that she was still pregnant and that she didn't think she had a miscarriage. I remember telling Todd how worried I was for her and that I really just wish she could accept it. I mean after all the ER doc told her there was no baby. I mean, right! I prayed that she was right, I prayed that God would bring this blessing into all of our lives, but at the same time ask God to help her accept what the doctor had told her if it was the truth. I was heart broken over the hurt Tonya and Danny were going through. Tonya went for her follow up visit today with her doctor and discussed the events since Thursday morning. She can be very convincing when needed, and the doctors did more testing which consisted of blood work and a sonogram and heart monitor -- Did you catch that -- heart monitor -- THEY HEARD THE HEART BEAT TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My dear friends Danny and Tonya are going to be parents -- I am blown away by the events of today - - - - I'm so in awe of my Savior!!!! Please continue to pray as she is still in a high risk pregnancy.

Okay onto the journey at hand - - - I was back in the gym tonight. Stephanie can sense my frustration and we had a really good talk about things and had a great work out - Nothing but weights tonight - my arms, calves, and back are really burning - tomorrow will be so fun! :) It felt awesome to be back in the gym after being out for 4 days. It is going to be hard to get in there with all of the Christmas things going on but... I know it has to be a priority.

Short blog tonight

Tomorrow my work out journey starts again -- I have NOT fallen completely off the wagon -- just 1/2 the wagon. I have NOT been in the gym or exercised since Thursday. I have kept up with calories, and food intake. However, being on 1/2 the wagon will NOT get me to where I'm heading...

There are so many changes coming my way at work that we will just save this for later... :)

Tonight was a great evening of fellowship and CHRISTmas. Sorry no pictures, I forgot my camera -- I never forget my camera. It was a very fun evening and I can't tell you how much being with these ladies means to me. It amazes me that we had a room full of ladies of all ages, most with nothing in common outside of our Lord, Jesus Christ, and it was an evening full of laughter, smiles and nothing but fun!!! -- can't lie -- a few tears - but it wouldn't be a Liberty Ladies fellowship without a few tears of JOY!

It is just another reminder of how blessed I am!!!

I bet you are singing that song right now -- I know - you are singing and smiling also. How can you hear those words and not feel the happiness that only Jesus can bring. This happy day started with a bang and didn't end until just a few minutes ago. I still have a lot that I have to do before the ladies ornament exchange tomorrow night so tonight's blog will be short.

Church service this morning and tonight were awesome. Both were so tightly centered around Jesus and Christmas. Bro. Dennis really wanted us to understand that Christmas isn't about complaining about who is saying Christmas or Holiday's or xMas. It is about what /how we celebrate Christmas. It is about what we as Christians are doing to bring Jesus to others. During his morning service he ask us several times, "what is your Christmas story?" That really got me thinking. What is my Christmas story? How am I different from the others? What am I doing different to show my Christmas story? I just love a message that keeps me thinking throughout the day/week about what I should be doing different. The evening message by Bro. Joe was Go BIG. God went BIG when he gave us Jesus. Why do we not GO BIG for Jesus. It was all about how even from the beginning of creation God went big for us. Wow - think about that for a moment. His catch phrase was ... Christmas 365 -- We need to have Christmas 365 days a year - 7 days a week - 24 hours a day. Christmas is about Jesus - that deserves more than one day.

In between Church service we attended the Children's church Christmas party. It was a lot of fun and seeing the kids talk and know that Christmas is about Jesus and not Santa warms my heart. Yes, we do Santa in our home; however, Logan can tell you that Christmas is NOT about Santa but about the wonderful gift that was given to us, Jesus. I do not see anything wrong with the family traditions that one might have as long as the foundation is planted on the ROCK of Jesus Christ.

After church we had a small surprise party for one of our friends. Needless to say - it was a full and happy day!

Please pray that I will not lose my way during this busy season. I've not been in the gym since Thursday; however, the food choices have stayed on target. Although today was non-stop and spent away from home; I wouldn't trade it for anything. It is going to continue until after Christmas. Tomorrow is our Ladies Ornament Exchange in which I'm helping host (NO, I do not have all of my things together....) so I'm not sure I will make it into the gym again. :(

I would like to report that I think I might be over my pity-party. Until tomorrow...

Friendship and Fellowship

The day started with a poor attitude about going to the gym; My back is still hurting so I made an excuse to NOT go. Poor choice on my part!

Finally around 11, I decided it was time to start getting ready for my bible study, Girl Power. As I got out of the shower, I heard my phone alert me of a text message. I read it and it was someone telling me they would not be able to attend today. When I finished putting my make-up on, I received another message of someone else who would not be able to attend. The messages didn't stop there -- Girl Power started at 2 and from 11 to 1:20 I received 8 messages of ladies that would not be able to attend. As I was setting up the TV and computer for our class, I remember thinking --- I wonder if anyone will even show up. I started telling myself, we should have cancelled the month of December. I wasn't mad or angry that the others could not attend, I understand that there are just going to be times when people can't come. Everyone that was unable to attend had a valid reason. What I did do, was limit God. I questioned my sevice to him and what He is going to do through this group. I can not wait to see what God has in store for this group of young ladies. It was so awesome to see 13 ladies all from different backgrounds, families, and walks of life sharing in the word of God through fellowship, friendship and discussion. If everyone from December comes and everyone that has said they will be there in January comes -- we will have OVER 20 girls next month --- start praying now!

After Girl Power, we decided to stay at church since the Young Adult Christmas Party would be starting soon. What a fun night. So much food!!!!!! (healthy choices were made) It is so awesome to be able to fellowship with our church family. After everyone finished eating we played a family bible trivia / verse search game. We had never played it before and it was really fun. It was a very fast paced trivia game played on the TV - 24 seconds to answer questions - if you didn't know the answer you could look it up in the bible. I am so excited to report that Todd and I won!!! What did we win? Well I'm so glad you ask. We won my favorite home made Stevie Apple Pie. I am telling you the BEST apple pie EVER. It has been the HARDEST thing to turn down since my new lifestyle change. I am happy to report that we did the right thing and did NOT bring it home with us. I gave it to our friend James who has the same love as I do for the pie.

It was a great day with our friends and family. I can't wait for church tomorrow; however, I'm afraid it will be another very busy day. Logan's Children's Church party is tomorrow and then Todd has Play practice at 3 for our Christmas Drama. Christmas is such a magical time of year, so don't let the busyness take that away. It is so easy to get wrapped up in the schedule of this and that during this season -- always keep JESUS at the center.

Awe... Finally Friday

I am writing my blog early today as it will be a late night. Todd and I are going with our College / Career Sunday School class to Tyler for our Christmas Fellowship. We plan to have dinner and drive through the Journey Through Bethlehem display at Trinity Church. For those that are not familiar with JTB it is a fun, interactive walk or drive through the little town of Bethlehem. It is set up in the parking lot of Trinity Baptist Church in Tyler and is designed to take you back to that special night that the most influential man in the world was born, Jesus Christ. It's a great way to share in the spirit of this glorious season with your friends and family. I'm really excited as this will be my first year to go. Our friends Heather and Doug Crow are members of Trinity and I've heard nothing but GREAT things. (pictures will be posted tomorrow night, if not tonight)

Today was a busy but decent day. I had planned to attend the Ladies Tea today for our church. I looked at my work schedule every way trying to work it in. Sometimes this thing called WORK gets in the way. I know the ladies had a GREAT time and I hope there were no chairs remaining!

I am not going to the gym tonight and will be honest and say -- I'm so okay with that as my back is still killing me and my emotions are still all over the place - I would hate to embarrass myself with a mental break down while trying to work out -- :)

If we get in early enough tonight I will blog a few pictures if not... tomorrow for sure!

Another day in which I wished I had a fast forward button. My day started at 4:30 with a phone call from a good friend of mine. The same friend, and her pregnancy, I requested prayer for a few days ago. She was on her way to the ER and was worried about the way she was feeling. I will not go into all of the details, will only say that she was trying to have a miscarriage. Her levels were still high but the sack is empty. I was with her most of the afternoon and my heart is aching for her. She has to go back in on Tuesday - Just pray God's comfort. It is so hard to understand and to not question! I however know that God does NOT make mistakes and this is in his will! With that said --- it is so hard to watch someone you love go through something so tragic. I know that something good will come from this.

I did keep my appointment with Stephanie tonight. The workout was good, my back is really hurting; but pain is weakness leaving my body, right. Sometimes I wonder if anyone really understands how hard this is... I sat in the sauna tonight and cried the entire time. I really don't know why I was crying. Was it because my back was hurting? Was it because I am learning that some people are not who I thought they were? Was it from stress at work? Was it because the last 2 days have just caught up with me?

No matter what the reason -- God is in control!

FAST FORWARD!!!!

Well let me start by saying...

this will be an upfront and very honest blog post.

I will also add that if I had a remote control to use on my life, this would not be a day in which I would ever use the pause, play or rewind button --- ONLY FAST FORWARD! With that said, I would also have to add a button to my remote - - the HELP BUTTON!!!!

4 years ago my life took a very drastic turn - everything that I knew was changed and turned upside down. I really believe I have come to terms with it, until days like today. I feel as if I'm all in it all by myself sometimes. I go to a very bitter place and have those moments of resentment. Long story short, it got the best of me and that is no one's fault -- BUT MINE. I let my circumstances rule me today! So much for dancing in the rain. There was no dancing, only self-pity. Needless to say, I did NOT go to the gym today! I did not make it a priority.

I don't really have anything else to say tonight except, I am ready for bed and can't wait to try again tomorrow!!! I praise my Lord and Savior that my hope does not rest in this world.

I just finished watching the Biggest Loser and I will just say that Abby looked amazing and she rocked that dress! Abby, my friend you will always be an inspiration. You were beautiful; but I didn't just see the outside -- I saw ABBY! I saw you smile and not just on the outside... YOU ARE A SHINING STAR! I was so over whelmed by emotions for her. I was also thrilled that Danny won. Watching the journey that each person went through and seeing how it changed them. Not only the outward appearance, but the inside was changed. I think the tears flowed from beginning to end. I will never understand what they went through on the ranch; however, I do know the struggle of being on a journey to become healthy. It is a BATTLE. A BATTLE I WILL WIN!!!

I don't' know if you remembered or not but... TODAY WAS WEIGH IN DAY. For those that remember, the last 2 weeks, Tuesday's have not been fun. I have stayed the same for 2 weeks (which not gaining over Thanksgiving was GREAT) TODAY WAS AWESOME!!!!!!! 4 POUNDS GONE FOREVER! NEVER to be seen again! It worked -- we increased my calories and I LOST. I still don't understand, but I plan to do everything I'm told. I plan to be the perfect student so that I can reach my goal. And for those of you counting --- THAT IS 22 POUNDS TOTAL AND GONE FOREVER!

Tonight was a great workout. I didn't like it during the session but afterward I felt so good. I have decided that chin ups and pull ups are on the I will MASTER list along with my push ups. I get so frustrated with myself when I can't do something; but, will turn that frustration into fuel for my fire.

Already looking forward to being in the gym tomorrow and my session with Steph on Thursday. I still do not like the exercise when I'm in the gym but I LOVE how I feel when I have finished.

Typical Monday . . .

Well today was what some would call a typical Monday. We had 2 girls out in the office, which means for Heather and I, it was very busy. On top of that, it was a very high traffic day. It seems that people are getting very desperate! It is so sad when people come in and we do not have anything for them. This economy has to pick up, so that our job market will turn around. Please remember those that are unemployed in your prayers. It is hard enough being unemployed; add the Christmas season, it makes it even worst!

I was late getting to the gym today due to a very fun conference call, (yea right, are there ever fun conf. calls?) I finally got there and decided to do a combination of cardio and weight lifting. I am amazed at how much I really am enjoying the weight lifting. I never thought I would say that! Stephanie keeps telling me HEAVY, so tonight I went HEAVY and now can feel it --- no pain no gain, right? After the weight lifting I did more cardio and then sat in the sauna for 30 minutes. Guess I will sweat the weight off if the workout doesn't work. I will meet Stephanie tomorrow evening -- I can't wait to see what she has planned for us. I do have a funny to tell you with the mention of Stephanie... My friends have decided that Stephanie is my new best friend, one even mentioned that she was worried about my obsession! I'm sure she was joking, well maybe???? I think it is so funny because after that was brought to my attention I realized I do talk A LOT about what I have learned or what we did or this or that! So funny - dear friends - this is to you, I will work on clearing my head from "gym talk" while we are together! Notice I said TRY!!!

Tomorrow is weigh in -- I sure hope increasing my calories will HELP - how crazy does that sound? I ate more so I'm sure to lose. Just another thing I'm learning from Stephanie! :) I did decide that life would be much easier if I was just a little taller!

**on another note - my friend, Tonya, that I ask you to pray for about her pregnancy is having pains and I'm sure everything is OK, but please say a little prayer for her when you think about it.**

Picture blog tonight -- Lolo's bday party was today and we are all exhausted after a LONG day of amazing praise, worship and message at church both this morning and this afternoon --- and then a birthday party in between --- So my friends - - - short blog of a few of my fav pictures from party today.

GREAT Saturday

What a great Saturday! My day started at the gym as every Saturday has since mid October. I'm so excited that the gym was packed this morning. Yay Complete Fitness. I'm telling you, if you live in this area and are looking for a great place to workout - this is the place for you... Did a little cardio and focused on arms and shoulders with weights.

After the gym we came home and got ready to head to Mesquite.

Our first stop was...

I LOVE this place. Although, did not think the entire "healthy" eating through because the moment we walked in the door I wanted crab. That would not have been bad if I could eat it without the dripping butter!!! NO Stephanie - I did not eat the dripping butter nor crab. I had a delicious salad with grilled shrimp. Todd told the waitress it was Logan's birthday weekend (his bday is on the 9th) and my shy little guy was so embarrassed and could have given his daddy a knuckle-sandwich. They were so sweet to him and he was not moving nor looking at them as they sang to him.

I'm almost finished!!!!!! (I ran out of money hahahahaha)

My bible study, Girl Power, is next Saturday and our books were still on back order - so I called and cancelled the order and thank you Jesus, they put the money back in my account. I needed a reason to head to my favorite store anyway... :) I am happy to report that I purchased all of the books we needed. We had 9 girls at our last meeting and I've had several say they were coming this time. I purchased 15 books; however, I know God will show off and we will need more!!!! If any of you want to check out the book we are using ---- it is Crazy Love by Francis Chan.

I was also able to get a few Christmas presents there. Of course I picked up a few things at Mardel's as well. The new Casting Crowns CD is awesome. Todd finally said do not put another item in this buggy... He was such a poor sport. :) We made a few other stops and finished Logan! I'm happy to report that I'm just about finished. I have a few more odd and ends to finish up, but for the most part -- I am done!

When we came home we started the first fire of the season -- I love nights at home with the fire going.

After getting everything put away (as we also stopped and bought groceries on our way home), Logan and I started working on his "goody" bags for his birthday party tomorrow afternoon. My Lolo will be 6 on Wednesday and we are having a bowling party. He is so excited! I promise I will not get mother of the year for this party - I didn't even plan or invite anyone until last Saturday - it just got here quicker than I was anticipating. He has invited several of his friends from church, his soccer team and old daycare. Also a few very special grown-ups in his life. I am sure to post pictures tomorrow night.

**I would like to end tonight with asking for prayer for a very dear friend of mine. She is in the beginning stage of a divorce. This is not something she was wanting nor expecting. Just remember her in your prayers. I just hope that through this storm she will remember to soar like an eagle and lean on the ONLY one that can help her, Jesus.

That is all I have for tonight - diet and workout today was good. I can't wait to weigh in on Tuesday. I can feel myself getting stronger and feel my voice coming back. Jesus is the true ROCK and I can't wait to be a STAR for him.

JESUS is the REASON for all seasons!

What a wonderful day! Work was uneventful today, but tonight was GREAT! My mother and I took Logan to Santa Land in Lindale tonight.

It was so much fun - just the 3 of us. Logan is such an entertainer! Santa Land was nice but I believe the Land of Lights in Athens is just as good; however, I was very impressed with one section of the drive through light park. They had a new part they just added, The Holy Land - WOW!!!

The true meaning was displayed!!!! There was so much more but these were my favorite. The gift shop at the end was very nice and the Santa was amazing!!! We have always taught Logan that Jesus is the reason for this season and all other seasons. He will be the first to tell you that Christmas is NOT about Santa; but about Jesus. However, the traditions of Santa is still very fun and I love seeing his face on Christmas morning. With that said, each year we have tried to get a good picture of him with Santa. He has never wanted to participate in this picture and usually gets very shy and will not even look at the camera or Santa. This year was so different! The Santa at Santa Land was so personable and Logan just warmed up to him.

After leaving Santa Land we stopped in Canton to eat at Ochoa's. I hated eating that late but we were starving!!!! Good choices were made (except for eating after 8) -- Logan did not hesitate to tell me that his Nawna was his favorite woman! I love that my mother and Logan have that special bond. He is and will always be her little man!

Tomorrow will be an early day as I have to be at the gym @ 9. (grrrrrrrrwlllllllllllllll) I did not work out today so it will be a longer/harder session tomorrow morning!

Only one other thing to say... Please do not get so caught up in the "commercial" side of Christmas because -- JESUS IS THE ONLY REASON!!!!

I have a workout fairy... and let me just say -- she worked me out tonight. We were in the "boot camp" room and I felt like I had been through boot camp by the time we were finished. We did things tonight I had never done and I'm sure my abs (or tummy, where abs should be) were in utter shock! By the time I got home I could already feel my body tightening up and the soreness had set in. It is still amazing to me how our workouts with no equipment, no machines can be the hardest! I can ALWAYS feel the burn after working out with Stephanie, but wow I can REALLY feel it tonight!

Diet is going well, Stephanie ask me to bump up my calories this next week. I feel like I'm now eating toooooooooooo much!

On a side note -- my wonderful laptop has a VIRUS and I am amazed I have stayed logged on long enough to publish this blog, so tonight will be another short one, before I get kicked off. I hope to get computer up and running in tip top shape by tomorrow night.

I will close with this... for those that have little faith in me, for those that think I will quit, for those that do not believe I can do this; I can't wait to see your face in a year when I am living a healthy amazing life. I only have a few words for you - - FAILURE IS NOT AN OPTION!!! With that said, it is a good thing that I not only have faith in MYSELF, but in Jesus for I know with CHRIST all things are POSSIBLE!!!!

This will be a very short blog -- I am ready for bed! To be honest, the day was really uneventful; except for my ride to the gym. It took me 20 minutes to go 8 miles! I mean ONLY in Gun Barrel City, Texas can a house block traffic.

After the gym we ran home and got ready for church; Our service was very good tonight. Bro. Dennis preached on the responsibilities of the church. After church we went to the Dairy Queen with some of our friends. I had a drink of water while I watched others with their ice-cream --- you know what -- it is getting so much easier! Just wish the exercise was. :)

Well I know it is hard to believe, but that is really all I have for tonight - I can't wait to get into the warm bed! Tomorrow should be a GREAT day -- I will be out marketing tomorrow (for all that business that is out there) and then will be at the gym tomorrow night with Stephanie. Tomorrow evening I'm having dinner with 3 of my favorite people; can NOT wait!

Not just another day!

I will start with today was weigh in and I was NOT excited!!! I stayed exactly the SAME! What, are you kidding me? I have worked my rear end off and made good choices over Thanksgiving. I was so frustrated after weigh in. I didn't even want to go to the gym, it was one of those -- why bother moments! I talked with my mother on the way back from weigh in. She made valid points about the inches I had lost and about how I have been lifting more weights. Muscle weighs more than fat, right? I get all of that; BUT I NEED TO SEE IT ON THE SCALE AS WELL!

I got to the gym and talked with Steph about my frustrations and we talked about my food plan and eating schedule. We increased my calorie intake which means more food! I'm really OK with what I've been eating - I'm sick of TURKEY and CHICKEN but I really have not felt hungry. I love the way Stephanie doesn't just say ... you need to do this or that. She takes the time to explain to me why. Some of the frustration left after talking with Stephanie - she told me to worry about the inches and the scale will catch up. That is what I am going to do - I have had a 16 inch loss ---- why am I frustrated????? I say I loved the way she does that -- I did not LOVE her during our workout tonight. Notice I said DURING the workout I did not LOVE her. Guess what, I so do right now! I'm so proud of our workout today and what I accomplished! Are you ready for this????

I JOGGED (I say running -steph said jog) I was over 5 speed. I did not do it for long but you know what ----- I DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not once -- but three times! I will say it ~~~ I AM SO PROUD OF MYSELF! The workout tonight was cardio - weights - cardio - weights - cardio - weights and then she decided we would do some abs. OH MY ~~ my abs thought what is this? It was a crazy night in the gym but I LOVED IT! As I sit here tonight everything hurts, but it hurts so good! I am blessed to be able to have a trainer like Stephanie that will push me and still be encouraging! THANK YOU STEPH!

After the amazing night at the gym, I had my girls night out with Misti and Kathy. I am so blessed to have these girls back in my life - it is so funny when you realize what you have missed all these years of being out of touch!

I would like to ask for prayer for a very special friend of mine, my friend Tonya found out today (officially from doctor's blood test) that she is Pregnant. Danny & Tonya have been waiting for this moment for a long time. Tonya has had several miscarriages and tubal pregnancies. She really feels different this time and has faith that this is their time. I would like to call all of you prayer warriors to pray for her. She and Danny are strong in their walk and are faithful in their service to our Lord. I love these 2 wonderful people and I know that God has special plans for them!!!

Mr. Blog, this has been one of those roller coaster days ~~ but I will say with God all days are blessings!

Does Music really make a difference???

Working out can get boring if you follow the same routine day in and day out. I'm learning from my trainer that it is important to change the way you workout each day. On the days I'm on my own, I am trying to focus on cardio which means I'm by myself on the bike, treadmill, or precor machine. I have found that listening to music while I exercise really helps my energy level. The gym always has music playing, but I like it better if I bring my MP3, it really helps me. You can have fun with it --- (well as much fun as possible at the gym) For example tonight: I made a game out of it. (I know -- my nerdiness is showing) I created a workout play list before arriving at the gym. I picked out different songs that I love and were different in speed, sound and tempo. As the songs would change their speed I would increase my speed. If the songs were slower I would increase my incline and so forth. EXCEPT on the precor -- I do good just to stay on for my allotted time. :)

It was a good workout and I was beat by the end of it - however, being able to listen to MY song selection made it better... I had a combination of songs, all on my personal MP3 play list, my workout play list tonight was as follows:

I really was surprised to see how quickly my workout went. From my workout I got in the sauna and the music was much different. It was very soothing and relaxing. Music has been used to relax the body, like while trying to fall asleep or doing yoga for years. I think I will start using it to my advantage in the gym.

The next step will be to replace my play list with all Christian songs. I mean how much more will I get out of my workout if I have words about my Savior playing in my ear.

**Word to wise, don't forget you are in the gym and there are others around you while you are working out. I found myself on several songs singing out loud - embarrassing!!!!! With labor breathing in between -- not a pretty sound!**
